Professor Jan Kizilhan and Professor Joop de Jong will host a lecture and discussion, exploring the cultural aspects of post traumatic stress disorder. Both renowned for their research, this is a talk you do not want to miss!

    Professor Jan Kizilhan
    Professor doctor in Psychology and head of the ITHS.

    Jan Kizilhan is an internationally well recognized psychologist, sociologist, orientalist and the head of the Institute for Transcultural Health Science. He is a sought-after expert in transcultural psychiatry and traumatology.
    For over 20 years he has been researching topics such as migration and PTSD. Jan currently teaches at the Cooperative State University in Villingen-Schwenningen and acts as the head of department for transcultural psychosomatics at the MEDICLIN clinic. Prof. Kizilhan has developed several therapy concepts and continues to consult many governmental and non-governmental institutions.

    Professor Joop de Jong
    Professor in cultural and international psychiatry

    Professor Joop de Jong is researcher; renowned for their work in global mental health and psychiatry which has over 14,000 citations on scholar. Joop also stands as an advisor to the United Nations and the World Health Organisation and was awarded the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies Lifetime Award in 2017.
