Music therapy in mental healthcare lecture

In this lecture Han will talk about arts based music therapy. There will be focused on what arts based music therapy is, as well as on the roll of improvisation. Han will talk about some of his own cases, and also his vision of the positioning of music therapy in accessible mental healthcare.

    Han Kurstjen
    Psychologist, lecturer, researcher and music therapist.

    Han Kurstjens is a psychologist, music therapist, supervisor, researcher and musician. His main interests are on active music therapy, improvisation, music centered approach, morphological music therapy.
    He has been a lecturer for over 30 years at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences (retiring September 2016) and researcher at KenvaK for 10 years. He worked in psychiatry for over 6 years and has a private practice (25 years). He presents at national and international conferences and is guest lecturer UB Barcelona (Spain), Tallinn University (Estonia), Jyväskylä University (Finland), HKS Ottersberg (Germany), Academia Musica Slupsk ( Poland).
